I suppose that if we want to travel, or are obliged to, *they* figure that
put up with just about anything. And, sadly, they are, for the most part,

Now I myself don't think that all this *security* stuff is necessary. Or
actually enhances travel security all that much. But it does seem to
opportunities for a lot of harassment and payback and drama and nastiness.
Or maybe just awful service. With a built-in excuse.
Academics and intellectuals seem to be an established target group for
I don't blame anybody for not wanting to travel to or around the USA.
