Personally I would agree, I don't think multi-user pilot jobs are
*required*, but unless a significant number of sites (worldwide) refuse
to install glexec it's the easiest way for the experiments to proceed -
particularly for Alice and LHCb who have well-developed pilot frameworks
already. Currently CMS don't use pilots at all, and atlas are a "swing
voter" since their pilot framework is in development.
