The National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) is the central resource
for e-social science issues and activities in the UK. The Centre comprises
a coordinating Hub based at the University of Manchester and seven major
research Nodes at other UK universities. For more details, see

The Hub wishes to appoint a Research Associate from 1 February 2008 to work
on a 18-month project that aims to illustrate how text-mining technologies
might advance qualitative social science research. The post will involve
working with the National Centre for Text Mining to customise the ASSERT
tools for application to frame analysis of newspaper text: see
http://www.nactem.ac.uk/assert/. You will have a degree in Social Science
or a related discipline, a background in interdisciplinary research and
extensive experience of content analysis, especially frame analysis of
textual materials.
