The Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine is holding a 3-Day Workshop on How to Practice Evidence-Based Health Carenne's College, Oxford 7th - 9th April 2008.
This workshop is suitable for all clinicians, health care professionals, mental health professionals, librarians, etc.
The workshop is intended to serve as an introduction to evidence-based practice and is aimed at those who wish to gain knowledge of critical appraisal and experience in the practice of evidence-based health care.
After the workshop, participants should be able to:
1. formulate answerable questions
2. search effectively for evidence
3. critically appraise evidence about treatment, prognosis, diagnosis an aetiology for its validity and applicability
4. understand basic measures of efficacy such as numbers needed to treat and likelihood ratios
5. understand the basics of decision analysis, guidelines and cost effectiveness analysis
