**Reminder: Dial "M" for Mentor Event**
A few places are still available for the Dial "M" for Mentor event on 20th
November (6.30pm)
*** booking is essential ***
Antony Brewerton will help you explore what mentoring is all about, the
benefits to the mentor and mentee, and how to make an informal mentoring
scheme work for you. This is an excellent opportunity for both mentors and
mentees to find out more about the process, and especially useful to
anyone involved in chartership and certification, particularly if you have
yet to make your mind up about whether to get involved in a mentoring
scheme. There will also be an opportunity to network informally.
Antony, currently Head of Academic Support in the Library at the
University of Warwick, was formerly at Oxford Brookes University and
Reading University Library where he embarked on an informal mentoring
scheme with a younger colleague. Antony has several years experience of
staff management and has acted as both a Chartership supervisor and
Fellowship mentor for CILIP. In addition to writing widely on staff
development and mentoring in a library setting, he is an extremely
entertaining speaker who has been known to reduce lecture theatres full of
people to tears of laughter!
