Ifelt that List members might want to know that access to care pathways is
being included in the ITT for the re-procurement of the Specialist Libraries
as a National Library of Care Pathways.
Fran Wilkie advises me that the aim is to move towards a Care Pathways Hub
page, with a search and other value-added services, including current
awareness.

I had the same issue when trying to find good practice models for
patient information in mental health. I did some useful networking and
got good feedback from this list but it was interesting that several
people came back to me saying they were doing a similar project in their
trusts. It seemed such models were much more developed in the acute
rather than the mental health sector.

I really think this should be a feature of the Protocols & Care Pathways
Specialist Library in NLH. This database needs really beefing up, with
some proactive work rather than relying on Trust to supply the
information directly.

I am so glad you asked this; It is a perennial challenge.
Belinda Hylton kindly shared some notes on this a couple of years back.
See "Tracing best practice"

I do hope colleagues will respond with suggestions, with which we can
update
this.
Cathryn, if you'd be willing to share all the suggestions you receive,
I'd
be happy to compile these into a document we could share on the For
Librarians space.
Meanwhile, I'll ask colleagues whether anyone at the National Institute
for
Innovation and Improvement has any suggestions on this one too.

Subject: Centre of excellence
I have recently started a job as a clinical librarian working for a
Pathway
team. I am constantly being asked where are the centres of excellence,
which
services are provided by which Trust, where are the examples of best
practice. Does anyone know of a definitive resource/website to help me
search the Trust in the UK by services provided? for example where can I
find examples of best practice in managing brain injury?
Would appreciate any ideas.
Thankyou
