Interesting error, actually on a receipt to an nhs.net email to me.
Bounced back with
"SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<a.....m.... [at]
nhs.net> SIZE=14593:
host smtp.nhs.net [216.239.198.21]: 501 Sender domain must exist"
So the SMTP server for nhs.net is reporting that the nhs.net domain
does not exist.
I suspect something more complicated is wrong than an existential
crisis of confidence in that machine, but it is a fine example of a
weird error message.
