All have worked well on my over full Windows desktop and laptop and do not
require any dongles etc. They are simple to use which is the intention of
the developer. They have basic functionality with very little overhead so
do not cause the machines to struggle if other programs are running.
However, if the students want to use the screen reader with SPSS or some
other applications, you may want a more complex program. Mapping is
possible but you would need to ask for help from ClaroSoftware to sort out
the scripts.
The magnification software does not have all the colour hues, tints or mouse
changes that are offered in other programs but (on my computer) provides
good smoothing, masking etc.
Best wishes E.A.

Subject: Magnifying and Screenreading software
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has any comments on experience of using Thunder,
Lightning and Storm magnifiction and screenreading software please? Our IT
dept have had difficulties with getting the pen drive plugins for JAWs and
Supernova to work, so they are looking into alternatives.
The website is http://www.xpscreenreader.com/index.php?tab=o&cPath=304
Any advice appreciated!
