Whilst I agree that we all want to help the Police we also have to be
aware that if the information is obtained unlawfully they cannot use
it in Court (PACE). Section 29 is for the detection and prevention of
crime or the aprehension or prosecution of offenders. In missing
persons there would have to be a strong probability that a crime has
been or was to be committed for section 29 to be used.
