6.1 Becta and LSC Technology Exemplar Network
... will lead to the creation of a national peer support network, by 
encouraging providers with a track record of successfully embedding 
technology into their learning and teaching to create a forum to share 
best practice with other providers. The Technology Exemplar Network 
Prospectus and the invitation to participate for supporting exemplar 
providers are now available. Closing date for applications: 31 December

6.2 JISC TechWatch: Open Call for report on Greening ICT
... an open call for prospective authors and peer reviewers interested 
in contributing to a report on the technologies involved in greening 
ICT. The report is being commissioned in response to the growing concern 
over climate change, most notably the recently published Stern Review of

6.3.1 JISC ITT: Landscape Study of Roles and Competencies
This ITT invites proposals to undertake a landscape study to identify, 
map and classify roles, competencies and relationships of major actors 
in each of the high level domain areas identified as part of the 
JISC-funded High Level Domain Architectures (HiLDA) project.
Funding of up to £35,000 is available for this study.
Deadline for proposals: 12 noon 13 December 2007.

6.3.2 JISC ITT: Study into Evolution of Working Practices
This ITT invites proposals to undertake an investigation into the impact 
of technology enhanced working on staff in UK Further (FE) and Higher 
(HE) Education institutions and their working practices. Funding of up 
to £50,000 is available for this study. In addition funding of £10,000 
will be paid directly to each institutional case study participant to 
cover the costs incurred in support of and participation in the study.

6.3.3 JISC ITT: Study of Shared Services in UK Further and Higher Education
...invites proposals to explore the prevalence, the extent of and 
attitudes towards shared services in the UK Further (FE) and Higher 
Education (HE) sectors. Total funding of up to £100,000 including VAT 
and travel and subsistence is available for this project.

6.3.4 JISC ITT: Skills, role & career structure of data scientists & 
curators
JISC invites tenders to undertake a project to examine and make 
recommendations on the role and career development of data scientists, 
the associated supply of specialist data curation skills to the research 
community, including an assessment of the value and potential of 
extending data handling, curation and preservation skills within 
undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. A total of £100,000 is
available for this project, inclusive of VAT and all expenses.

6.3.5 JISC Capital Circular 05/07: Digital Repositories
JISC invites institutions to submit funding proposals for projects to:
- develop interoperability demonstrators to help improve the efficiency 
and effectiveness with which research papers are deposited into 
repositories;
- develop, provide examples for, and a limited support facility for, a 
Data Audit Framework;
- implement a version of the 'Data Audit Framework' methodology in a 
range of institutions and subject areas.
