Research Statisticians
The MRC Biostatistics Unit aims to advance
medical science by the development,application
and dissemination of statistical methods. It is
one of Europe’s leading biostatistics research
institutions and includes many internationally
renowned statisticians. It provides a privileged
environment for conducting research, with
negligibleadministration, no requirement to
teach, and access to important applications of high public interest.
The Unit has a number of opportunities to offer
posts, from among the following areas:
-A senior post in statistical methods for missing
data (but we will consider applications in other

For a senior level post, applicants will have a
PhD and extensive experience of research in
statistics. Senior level candidates will be
expected to take the lead in planning and
managing their own research, and to develop
junior statisticians and PhD students.
The starting salary at the senior level is likely
to be in the range of £35,000 to£38,000 per
annum, supported by a flexible pay and reward
policy, 30 days annual holiday entitlement and an
optional final salary MRC pension scheme.
