OK, this is totally out of left field, but I've
been interested in learning more about a Spanish
theorist named Andrés Ortiz-Osés who is,
apparently, a big name in a field called
Symbolist Hermeneutics.
He's a Jungian, a pupil of Hans-Georg Gadamer and
a member of the Eranos Circle, which also
included people like Mircea Eliade and Joseph
Campbell.
I have a little Spanish, but not enough to read
anything of his easily, and I don't think
anything he's written has been translated. But
from the brief mentions of him I *have* read -
including his Wikipedia entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_Ort%C3%ADz-Os%C3%A9s
- I think he *might* be doing something you'd
find interesting, at least along the lines of his
mythological studies.
If I was a little more in academia than I am
right now, I'd consider trying to translate him
into English, just to find out what he's writing
about.
