Hi Aacorn friends,
This is a wonderful suggestion from Danica. The IEDC Bled School
of Management has been at the forefront of using arts-based practices
and processes to support managers and leaders work in the world. And
the time is perfect for gathering all the great experiments that are
taking place in the world in one place and finding where the best
synergies are. Danica, thanks for offering to host such a conference.
It would be a huge contribution
All my best, Nancy

Dear AACORN friends,
It was great to hear from you all and especially about Nancy. She has
been really pioneering in different fields and she has made a
difference! At IEDC Bled School of Management we also enjoyed her
lecture and artistic contribution - two of her beautiful water colour
paintings decorate our MBA office!
As for art and leadership development, we have been practising it
already for some years, and Paul Robertson, leader of British Medici
String Quartet was our first artist in residence. We are now doing
together with him a film on art and leadership and we are preparing some
articles.
I propose to all of you to organise an international meeting of all of
us who work hard on innovative curriculum and to learn from each other.
We have namely a big task ahead: to work on development of the teaching
material in this field. If you like to come to Slovenia, our school
would be happy to host such an event. We could have it in late spring /
early summer and enjoy Bled and perhaps also Dubrovnik (Croatia). We
could enjoy our exchange in the first part, and then in the second,
together with artists that we could invite, work further on development
of this field.
Let me know what you think. Nancy can confirm our eagerness to have you
here and the inspirational place that we offer.
All the best to all of you

Dear George and others,
this is an exciting development, way ahead of us in Stockholm, with our
curating programme stretching over one semester and a half. This is
something we should exchange experience about - why don't you invite us
when it's up and running?!
This should be a possibility to exchange more information and
experiences also among others who work with arts or cultural management
programmes at university. How many other are there engaged in this kind
of courses and programmes in the Aacorn community?
I know only of the excellent and multidisciplinary GIOCA programme that
Luca Zan heads in Bologna, and the new Arts administration in Buffalo
where Ruth Bereson is involved - but would be interesting to hear what
else is happening around the world.

Katja

I attach a web link to an exciting new MA in Critical Management and
Curating to be launched next year at the University of Essex. The
scheme will be delivered jointly by the Department of Art History and
Theory, and the School of Accounting, Finance and Management. It is
aimed at students who wish to take up a career in visual arts
management, critical curating, museum or gallery administration, with a
grounding in the broader field of aesthetic approaches to understanding
management and
organizations.<http://www2.essex.ac.uk/arthistory/news/critmanandcuratin
