Sensory good stuff, takes the reader right into it, the smells especially.
Unlike Joe I'm not keen on the ending -- I find self-referential poems
unsatisfying.
The line I like is "The future is the interest the moment bears".
Is that a quote?

Allegedly, some kid poet came over to Robert Frost at some gathering and
introduced himself by saying "I'm a poet." Frost replied "That's a
praise word. I'd wait 'til someone else called me that."
