Our CEO, Philip Oliver, had a long meeting with Tanya Byron yesterday on
this very topic. We are very much looking forward to the publication of
the report!
Best wishes,

It's going to be an interesting review, indeed. Of course, we're all
interested in how 'good' games can work for us in the cultural and
educational sectors.
No work in this area would be complete without the assistance of
Professor Mark Griffiths of Nottingham Trent University, the one
academic who seems to talk sense about computer gaming. I interviewed
him for a Telegraph story about the effects on children of computer
gaming in about 1998, and he was very sensible.

Subject: Byron Review - call for evidence
Hello again, just making sure you're all aware of the Byron Review:
http://www.dfes.gov.uk/byronreview/
It's an independent review, led by Dr Tanya Byron, and "looking at the
risks to children from exposure to potentially harmful or inappropriate
material on the internet and in video games."
[Disclosure: I'm a member of the 'friends group', one of Dr Byron's
consultation mechanisms.]
