This training day will focus on how museums, libraries and archives can find out about the needs of the communities they serve using community profiling. The day will encourage participants to draw on their own agencies priorities for community involvement and look at what is needed to build sustainable community engagement in the profiling process.

The first session on this training day will highlight ways in which cultural heritage organisations can build partnerships, access other European sources of funding and deal with the challenges of the latest EU rules and regulations. The second session on international funding will look at how cultural heritage organisations can engage on the world stage and develop partnerships with organisations throughout the world, what international funding streams are available, and how organisations can begin to incorporate international elements into their funding strategies.

This training day is intended to be a practical guide on how arts organisations can work as they would wish to do within the framework of recent legislation. It aims to ensure that all leave knowing what is important - and what is not - and able to make decisions on future procedures and requirements, based on a solid knowledge of the practical framework within which decisions must be made.
All courses are £75 for participants from the 33 London Boroughs and £90 for participants from outside of London. One place is available for a volunteer member of staff at £37.50 (London only).
