Dear Christian
You can see selected articles online free at GuardianCentury at http://century.guardian.co.uk/1970-1979/0,,96026,00.html
That site has text of articles from each decade from 1899-1999 - but not digitised originals though.
The British Library has images of some front pages 'from key moments in history' at http://www.bl.uk/learning/histcitizen/fpage/frontpagehome.html
Best wishes

Subject: Alternative to Times Digital Archive?
Hi All,
Our AS-level English students are required to find old nespaper articles
(30 years and 60 years old) as part of their coursework.
I'm finding them quite hard to track down. I did have a trial with The
Times Digital Archive, which was excellent, but it is so expensive.
Is there an alternative resource I could use?
thanks,
Christian Stretton
