Thank you Martin. I have made a note in my diary to check in three months if the updating has been done. Is this a reasonable timetable?

Subject: Re: Listed Buildings Online
With regard to the recent discussion on the currency of LB Online there are two separate issues:
Demolished Buildings
Buildings may remain listed, even though they have been demolished. This can occur if they were not de-listed when permission to demolish was granted, or the local authority did not inform the DCMS (or prior to that the DoE) or for some other reason a delisting amendment was not issued. These buildings technically remain on the list. Where identified, we have forwarded details to DCMS who intend to address these cases. They will be contacting all the local authorities concerned to confirm that the buildings have been demolished before issuing amendments. LB Online will then be updated.
New Listings
After listing, list entries are transferred to the NMR for indexing and then LB Online is updated. A number of cases currently await transfer to the NMR. The majority of these are more recent than the case cited. English Heritage is currently addressing this issue and the backlog should be cleared shortly.
Regards
Martin
