A postdoctoral research position is available in active tectonics,
geomorphology, and/or cosmogenic nuclide geochronology in the School of Earth
and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Potential
research areas include, but are not limited to, the following: constancy of
seismic strain accumulation and release rates along major plate boundaries and
the evolution of plate boundary fault systems, tectonic controls on erosion
rates and drainage basin evolution, rates and styles of knickpoint evolution in
bedrock channels, and rates and processes of alluvial landform evolution.
Candidates will be encouraged to develop independent projects and
collaborations both with scientists at Georgia Tech and elsewhere. Applicants
with previous research experience in tectonics, structural geology,
geomorphology, geodesy, geochronology, and related fields are particularly
encouraged to apply.
Excellent resources are available within the School and throughout the
Institute, including a new cosmogenic nuclide geochronology target preparation
laboratory. For more information about Georgia Tech and the School of Earth
and Atmospheric Sciences, please visit: www.gatech.edu, www.eas.gatech.edu, and

Candidates should send an electronic letter of application, curriculum
vitae, statement of research interests, and contact information for three
references to:
