Hello All (apologies for redundacies due to cross-posting),

Below, please find information about two new teaching positions at
SUNY-Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, USA for a new Masters in
Public
Health degree program - one for an epidemiologist and one for a
biostatistician.  Please forward to anyone you think would be interested.

Assistant/Associate Professor in Biostatistics

A 12-month tenure-track faculty position at SUNY Upstate Medical
University
in Syracuse, NY with a joint appointment at Syracuse University.
Responsibilities include the development and teaching of four courses in a
newly-established MPH program.  The courses to be taught are: 
Introduction
to Biostatistics, Advanced Research Methods, and two additional courses
related to the applicant*s strengths and background. Additional
responsibilities include teaching participation in other university
courses.
 The candidate will also advise and mentor MPH students. Secondary
responsibilities include participation in collaborative research in an
area
of interest to the candidate.
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in biostatistics or
related field with, preferably, 2 or more years biostatistics experience
in
an academic environment.  Demonstrated excellence in teaching, experience
in
team collaboration, a record of external research funding and scientific
publication, and strong interpersonal and communication skills are
essential.  
SUNY Upstate Medical University is one of Central New York's academic
treasures. It is the regions' only academic medical center with its
hospital
covering 17 central New York counties.  SUNY Upstate, includes the
colleges
of medicine, nursing health professions and graduate studies is a thriving
biomedical research enterprise, the fastest growing in the SUNY system. 

Our central New York location offers an ideal balance of urban, suburban,
and rural life, with easy access to New York City, the finger lake region,
the Adirondack Mountains, New England, and Canada. Schools are
outstanding,
