EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Workshop: Better Ageing, Better Care
10 October 2007 Brussels, BelgiumWho will take care of the millions of
older citizens in coming decades?
Many of tomorrow's older adults will enjoy good health and independence
into old age. Others will live with chronic health conditions, and many
of them will rely on families and healthcare providers to manage as best
they can. Clear social and inclusion challenges will accentuate in the
upcoming years. New models of care are slowly emerging that will address
the complex needs of patients and their caregivers, while providing
relief to the already - stressed traditional models of acute care.
How is Europe reacting, which policies are in discussion, what are the
perspectives of our Regions, what are they doing, can technology help?
This workshop, part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, will
explore these questions.
