CALL FOR TENDERS
Study on e-Inclusion Initiative Support
(Deadline: 06/12/2007) This is to support the EC e-Inclusion promotion
campaign in 2008 and facilitate the exchange of good practices in novel
and imaginative ways, including the delivery of a European e-Inclusion
awards scheme. The objective is to significantly step up the
visibility of local e-Inclusion activities throughout 2008 by by
extending existing facilities and, where needed, establish new sharing
mechanisms.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Workshop on Ethical Aspects of Inclusion in the Information Society
29 October 2007 Brussels, BelgiumThe European Commission is organising
a one - day workshop on the main ethical issues in the field of
e-Inclusion. Key issues such as informed consent, right to privacy and
protection of personal data, respect for dignity and integrity of the
person, non-invasion of the private sphere, equity, intrusiveness (of
information technologies), risk and responsibilities for critical
technologies will be discussed. The key question for the workshop: what
will be the ethical issues in a five years perspective, for citizens,
the industry, and society at large.
