Can I remind you about the Society visit to Harrogate coming up on the Saturday 27th? Please let me know if you would like to join this walking tour.
Given its wealth of Victorian architecture, its surprising that the West Yorkshire Group haven't visited Harrogate more often, and in response to a request from some members, Richard Tinker (the Conservation Secretary of the West Yorkshire Group) has kindly agreed to lead this walk which will explore the town centre and Low Harrogate. Amongst the buildings we will be looking at are; Harrogate Baptist Chapel, the former Art School, the Pump Room Museum, The Crown Hotel where we will have lunch and the Old Swan Hotel where we will have tea, both hotels have spectacular interiors. We will then walk up to the Duchy estate to the Temple Moore church of St Wilfrid (John Betjeman's favourite church in Harrogate) .
Meet at the railway station concourse at 11am
