Dear Ruth,
Chelmsford Museum Service have just been through a tender process for a replacement database and I am sure would be willing to share their experience.
The contact would be Ian Hook, Keeper of the Essex Regiment Museum.
Best wishes,
Robert

Subject: [SHCG-LIST] computerised object databases

Dear Curators,
My museum is thinking about a replacement object database. We are currently using Superbase, which is ancient and now about to fall over!
Ultimately, we would like to be able to add images and make it available on the internet.
We would like to know what other museums are using, the good points, the bad points and anything that should be avoided altogether!
Thank you.
