Hi,
I'm currently planning an fMRI paradigm and I'm not sure about the analysis
procedure.
The experiment roughly goes like this:
Participants play a wheel of fortune game for 3 different incentives.
Participants will randomly win one of the 3 incentives, they get presented
in each trial, after they reached a certain threshold (e.g. they won 10
times incentive 1).
The neural activity for the 3 different incentives then should be analysed
parametrically(eg. incentive 1 = 1, incentive 2 = 2, incentive 3 = 3). We
expect an increase in attentional processes the closer the participants get
to the threshold, because the closer they get there, the more they will want
to win a trial (=more motivated, more attentive).
Now my question: Is it a) necessary and b) possible to detrend this increase
in neural activity?
The 3 conditions with different incentives are randomly distributed across 4
runs of 30 trials.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Cheers
Andreas
