The Youth Libraries Group: South East invites all the South East Region
authorities (and any other interested parties) to join us for the Carnegie
and Greenaway Training Day 2007 at the Runnymede Centre in Surrey on the
17th October from 10am-4pm.
This training day is aimed at all staff who would like to increase their
knowledge and understanding of the best in current children’s literature.
They will gain skills in recognising the qualities that make good writing
and illustration in children’s books, increase their confidence in talking
about literature and network with colleagues from across the South East
region. They will also have the opportunity to vote for the South East
region’s nominations for the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway awards for 2008.
The 2007 Kate Greenaway winner Mini Grey will be speaking about her work and
we hope that Meg Rosoff, the 2007 Carnegie Medal winner, will also be
joining us.
