Dear All,
I was asked by a nurse recently "if a patient receives IV potassium replacement
(e.g. 20 mmol KCl over one hour x 3 doses), is there a recommended time to
wait before repeating the serum K.
I said I did not have a referenced answer but would suggest 1 hour, given
the redistribution needed and excretion to reach a reasonable steady state..
DO any of you have any thoughts on this
Thanks
Elizabeth
