Well, I'm terrible at false modesty, so you can be sure that this isn't
it. It's Christopher Burlinson the Spenser world needs to thank for this
transcription and editing task, as for much else. I am driving his chariot
on this one.
The UMI microfilm of the Andrew Lavender (NYU) dissertation edition of
Knevet is largely unreadable, so I don't recommend that anyone call it up
or order it. I imagine that it is readable in the flesh. On the other
hand, while his notes and introduction were good for 1955, there isn't a
lot of editorial matter there that would detain you for long, now. (Our
edition will be much more fun, I promise.)
