Oh hey, such memories Tad.
For someone in Montreal, who visited Birdland once with his Grade 11
class (& not the best evening, Maynard Ferguson's band), it is to envy,
deeply, We did have some good concerts, though, including the Monk
Quartet, after which I got to meet the great man (I was a pal of the
guy who arranged the concert).
So, a lot of it then was on record. And still is. Although our little
Yardbird Suite & summer jazz festival here in Edmonton have brought us
some great music.
