Dear all,
The September edition of NRICH, the maths enrichment site, is now live
at http://nrich.maths.org.
This month the mathematical problem solving and mathematical thinking
theme is Number.
Go to Stage 1 & 2 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=1> if
you are interested in mathematics at a level usually encountered at
primary school.
Go to Stage 2 & 3 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=2> if
you are interested in mathematics at a level usually encountered at
lower secondary school.
Go to Stage 3 & 4 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=3> if
you are interested in mathematics at a level usually encountered at
upper secondary school.
Go to Stage 4 & 5 <http://nrich.maths.org/public/monthindex.php?mm=4> if
you are interested in mathematics usually encountered at post-16 level.
We would also like to draw your attention to the new *Curriculum Mapping
Documents* that are available on the site:
http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5665. In addition to
the Stage 3 document, now you can download Stage 1 and Stage 2
documents, as well as a Stage 5 AS & A Level Core Pure Mathematics
document. We would like to stress that these are work in progress and
we would love to hear from you if you have used NRICH resources in the
ways suggested, or indeed you have further suggestions to add to the
documents.
You may be interested to know that four *NRICH-Rothschild Teacher
Fellowships* will be available to run from October 2007 until June 2008.
The Fellowships will be awarded to teachers who are keen to use NRICH
resources to promote problem solving in their classroom. The main aim of
this project is to integrate NRICH materials into classroom practice and
share that experience locally with colleagues in nearby schools. Please
see this page for further information:
http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5813.
