medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
On Sunday, September 23, 2007, at 9:50 am, I wrote, apropos the Basilica di San Sossio at Frattamaggiore (NA):

Those last two URLs don't work. The images in question expand from the second and third thumbnails here:

And on Monday, September 24, 2007, 7:14 am, Anne Willis quite rightly corrected my gaffe in posting a notice of St. Greca of Decimomannu (celebrated liturgically on the last Sunday in September) on the 23d rather than the 30th:
> > Today (23. September), being the last Sunday of this month, ...

In the unlikely event that anyone is wondering whether 'last' here was a slip for 'fourth', the answer is that it was not. This year's schedule of the Santa Greca festivities at Decimomannu, showing the masses on the evening of Saturday the 29th and the morning of Sunday the 30th), is available here (click on PROGRAMMA 2007 in the menu at left):

So there's still plenty of time in which to catch a plane to Cagliari, get a room, and drive out to Decimomannu before the liturgical highlights begin on Friday (the bus is cheaper but could be quite full and by now the hotel rooms in Decimomannu will have all been booked).
Best again,
John Dillon
