FYI, Manchester Art Gallery is currently jointly supervising a PhD with
Manchester Metropolitan University, researching our Empire Marketing Board
posters. This is our first such project and one which has great benefits
for our understanding of a lesser known aspect of the collections. It
also raises a number of questions about the relationship between research
and curatorship, questions that reflect wider debate about the role of
curatorship generally.
