Intute is running an advert in the Times Higher Education Supplement this
month, and we have been asked by the JIBS User Group[1] to alert librarians
to this just in case they are approached by any academics who have seen it.
If academics ask about Intute do please guide them to the site and perhaps
explain its foundations in the UK library and academic community, and the
commitment to offer a guide to the best of the Web for education and
research.
Perhaps recommend that they explore the database to find the subject
sections most relevant to their field:

You could also encourage them to set up a personal account on MyIntute to
save their searches, get emails alerts about new Internet resources, or to
build online reading lists of Internet resources for their students:
<http://www.intute.ac.uk/myintute/index.php>
You might also suggest they find the most relevant tutorial in the Virtual
Training Suite, and guide their students to this to help develop their
Internet research skills:

A copy of the Intute advert can be downloaded from:
https://www.bris.ac.uk/fluff/u/cmejw/CgD4GSjQZOwlwUcHi0N2QArR/
and will remain there until: Tues Oct 9th 23:59 2007
As many of you will know, Intute is a community-driven Internet service and
we hope this advert will encourage wider use - with your help!
