don't know how many people on this list were at the podcamp at nti birmingham over the weekend, as there was no way of identifying, or for that matter, who on this list is on facebook,
nor do I know who was at the cult of the amateur meeting last night at the RSA, for there was no way of identifying
but as we know have three threads, the traditional concepts of librarianship, perhaps shared with information science, which are so scabriously rubbished by Spark; the tools of Sparkworld, (and the Sage laboratory, September makes a good case, try taxonomy, semantics as grep) and the social networking argument which the cult of the amateur attacks
it seems to me yet again the time is right to try to establish the and of information, computing, science, as the HEA might have it (RSA and HEA as tla I presume everyone on this list knows) which is what I called information systems in the 1970s, and have been trying to establish a body of knowledge for ever since
so I am going to re-approach through the new chief executive of the RSA an attempt to pull together the fellows who are also professional information ** string thing to see whether we can establish something along the lines of the WSIS (about which much on here a long time ago, and still a good grep).
if there is anyone on this list, whether carrying any of those acroynms, or post-nomials, who wants to be involved, then we need to build a klump
