SAGE TO PUBLISH MAJOR EUROPEAN SURGERY JOURNAL
Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, and Singapore (27 September, 2007) - SAGE, the world's fifth largest journal publisher, is pleased to announce a new agreement to publish the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume) from 2008. JHS(E) is the official journal for the British Society of Surgery for the Hand and the Federation of European Societies for the Surgery of the Hand.
An international publication, JHS(E) provides essential reading for hand, plastic, reconstructive and orthopaedic surgeons publishing the leading research on hand surgery. Key subjects covered include joint replacement; fracture and joint injuries; micro-vascular surgery; and congenital hand problems.
The agreement marks SAGE's continued commitment to investing in a portfolio of high quality medical journals. Internationally recognized as a market leader in the social sciences, SAGE publishes over 460 journals, now including over 110 titles in medicine and healthcare.
Ziyad Marar, Publishing Director, SAGE, commented, "This is a great moment for our STM publishing programme, and we're honoured to be working with the BSSH and FESSH on this prestigious title. The partnership is strong evidence of SAGE's commitment to high quality medical publishing: the society took feedback from existing medical journals published by SAGE before reaching their decision.
"Our ambition is to be the natural home for authors, editors and societies, and to offer a unique partnership to societies by being a publisher that is big enough to deliver, but small enough to care, a publisher which is aligned with their values, and committed to helping them achieve their objectives."
Professor Tim Davis, Chair, Committee of Management for Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume) said, "SAGE have demonstrated commitment to high quality service publishing, and a flexible, open partnership. We look forward to working with SAGE to develop JHS(E) in the future".
Institutional subscriptions will include Combined (Print and E-access), E-access, or Print Only options. The journal will be available electronically on the SAGE Journals Online platform beginning February 2008. The journal's new homepage on SAGE Journals Online will be http://jhs.sagepub.com . Further publication details: ISSN: 0266 - 7681; eISSN: 1532-2211 / 1532-2211; distributed in February, April, June, August, October, December.
