Dear economic geographers:
The present variety of theoretical and methodological approaches in economic
geography hinders the identification of overarching theoretical and
methodological frameworks or common research themes that may form the core
of economic geography.
In order to investigate the existence or lack of distinctive research
paradigms or networks that may constitute the sub-discipline, this survey
1. takes stock of what economic geographers do (theoretical
frameworks, research questions, etc.);
2. identifies "invisible colleges" or research networks among
economic geographers;
3. examines the national varieties of economic geographies;
4. identifies future, key research themes for economic geography.
In order to obtain a complete picture of the discipline, your input would be
greatly appreciated. Please find below the link to the economic geography
benchmark survey.

There is no deadline for the completion of the survey and it can be
completed whenever convenient for you. If you have any questions regarding
the survey please do not hesitate to contact me at
