I always recommend a (small) fridge on DSA for students with diabetes. The justification being that at home they would store their insulin in the family fridge but in shared accommodation it is not appropriate to store medication in a shared fridge so they need their own. As I see it this need is a direct link to both their disability and their attendance at university

Your students manage to get funding from DSA for fridges or Social services, as we have been providing them ourselves!

In Accommodation we provide everything except adjustable desks, ergonomic chairs and fridges, which students can get with DSA. Although we fund it if the students can't, such as International.

Dear everyone

We are currently trying to adapt a room on campus for a student with
very complex needs.  This includes adapting the kitchen area.

Normally, we would liaise directly with the student's OT department in
their home town, however, this is proving increasingly difficult,
particularly for funding specialist equipment - e.g. bed, bath etc..  We
have written directly to the Assistant Director of Social Services and
the student has contacted their MP who is lobbying on her behalf.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any government guidelines on this
issue, or if there is any particular legislative requirements placed on
Social Services departments, above and beyond the DDA to provide
equipment?  If so, where we could find it?  

Trying to establish the boundaries in terms of who provides what would
help enormously.
