Heritage Link with The Council for British Archaeology and The Victorian Society's West Yorkshire Branch Invitation to
A NETWORKING LUNCH AND DISCUSSION FORUM FOR HERITAGE

The Council for British Archaeology, the Victorian Society (West Yorkshire) and Heritage Link are holding a Networking Event on Monday 22nd October at The Merchant Taylors' Hall, Aldwark, York YO1 7BX, for everyone interested in heritage in Yorkshire and Humberside.
The day will open with a networking lunch at 12.45.
The audience will hear from regional speakers and have the opportunity to put questions to them following their presentations. The guest speakers are:
+ICI- Anthea Case, Chairman, Heritage Link
+ICI- Gary Topp, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Culture, the Regional Cultural Consortium charged with promoting and developing culture in the region
+ICI- Richard Tinker, Honorary Caseworker for the Victorian Society West Yorkshire Branch
+ICI- Don Henson, Head of Education and Outreach, the Council for British Archaeology +ACY- Chairman of the Regional Advisory Panel for the Department for Culture Media and Sport Engaging Places project.
All are invited +IBM- from the Voluntary Sector, Heritage Agencies, Regional Bodies, Local and Central Government, Elected Members, Professional Practices, Academics, Funding Bodies +IBM- everyone with an interest in heritage. Heritage Link holds three or four networking events each year in partnership with a voluntary sector organisation in one of the regions. The next is planned for the East of England early in 2008.

Voluntary group representatives are invited to bring publicity material for display and distribution.
Heritage Link is the umbrella group for 81 voluntary heritage organisations in England. It aims to promote the central importance of voluntary groups in the sector and to make their voice heard more collectively and coherently by influencing policy, underpinning advocacy and increasing capacity. Heritage Link provides a forum, nationally and regionally, for members to formulate and promote policy on core issues as well as a support and information network. The Victorian Society is the national society responsible for the study and protection of Victorian and Edwardian architecture and other arts. It was founded in 1958 to fight the then widespread ignorance of nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture.
