I think David Connolly is right - we need to make a clear distinction
between sites where public participation is appropriate and possible, and
those where it is not.
True, but even on those where it is not, would it not be possible at least
to put up some form of ?weekly communique on the fence letting people know what
is going on and where or when they can find out more? As an interested
member of the public, I have neither the time, the skill nor the desire to dig
(though would be quite willing to pot-wash, draw finds or whatever!) but would
like to know what the paving stones are that are just being removed and what
that strange selection of holes actually means.
