"Marine stone dealer" doesn't appear in the (very comprehensive) 1927
Ministry of Labour Dictionary of Occupational Terms. "Marine store
dealer", however, was, as Malcolm suggests, a polite term for a junk
dealer used in Northern England and Scotland.
