Department of Epidemiology and Population Health
Research ASSISTANT in statistics or epidemiology
We seek a statistician or epidemiologist with
strong statistical skills to work on a project
looking at environmental triggers of
cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and
strokes. The post will involve the collation and
analysis of data from around the United Kingdom
and the use of Geographical Information Systems
(GIS). Data sources will include the national
audit of myocardial infarction (MINAP) and the
General Practice Research Database (GPRD).
Linkage to data on temperature, air pollution and
a range of other measures will be undertaken.
The post holder will be based at the London
School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in
central London. The position would be well
suited to someone with an interest in environmental effects on health.
The salary will be on the London School of
Hygiene and Tropical Medicine academic staff
scale. The starting salary will be in the range
of £28,330 to £32,543 per annum. The successful
candidates will be placed on the scale according
to qualifications and experience. The post is for two years
