Animal tales:
"In 1979, President Jimmy Carter was attacked by a rabbit on his canoe trip to Georgia." Only the tip of the "vicious rabbit" iceburg, I'm afraid.
And as to the Missing Rodent, we wonder whether 'twas a case of his hiding from amorous felines throwing themselves on his car windscreen. Pheromones?
Other interpreters of Rodent's absence say it's a darker scenario: During Patrick McManus' questionably chaste poetry-reads, the lonely Vile Boris flew out the catflap to settle his score with the Rodent once and for all. Consider this well: only one of you on this list (besides Patrick, of course) has ever seen Vile Boris-----yes, the Rodent! A stare-down of epic proportions.
Can we assume that Rodent's Return signals VB's homegoing? Will Patrick ever completely give up his groupied poetry-reads? Tune in next week, folks.
