I've worked in warehouses for the past 2 years, since graduating high
school. only today I drove a little electric pallet truck, a roaring
tractorlike gas-driven back-wheel-drive, & a silent smooth electric
platform truck. I also (mis)counted, altogether, 555 separate 12.5kg+
boxes of floor jacks; wrapped more than thirty box-strewn pallets in
transparent film, & ate a hurried lunch. I get 9.03€ per hour. I
sometimes like it, I even generally like it, but I get headaches -- &
pissed off. my muscles -- back, arms, legs & all -- are used to the
strain already, but my neck also sometimes riots a bit & I'm forced to
crack him before he worsens the headache.
I imagine it's a nice little intermission before white, papery,
scribbly, indoor, mute-mild academia. which starts monday over at
Helsinki U. plus I can work part time on weekends & such, & take a
break from reading about translation techniques & dialect boundaries &
alveolar stops. and literature, sure, though that's what my breaks are
for. that & CIGS which contribute to the head-pain I really should
quit though I hardly ever smmmmoke
