We have an imaginal symbiosis with the supermaterial world because we
created it.

Dear Joel,
Objects as metaphors seem to dominate my life to the point of
superstition.
Ever since I had both my first novel and a short story accepted the day
after I succeeded in jumping from a Luxor level and I had been playing
without success for months and racing through the next, I have convinced
myself that I will only have my next novel accepted when I succeed in
the Luxor level I have been working on for over a year!
Two very poignant metaphors have occurred in my life.
The first happened when my husband died. I typed out the funeral
speech on my Acorn computer and saved it successfully to my newly
inserted hard disk (all 40 megabytes, in those days can you imagine?)
When I returned from the funeral the hard disk had died and I never
recovered that speech. It was as if a door had been slammed shut behind
me forcing me to go forward.
The second occurred when I had to go into hospital to have a cancer in
the colon removed. Before I left I took my laptop to my daughter's for
safe keeping and unplugged my two pcs. On my return from hospital I
found all three computer's would no longer work. I was in no condition
to go running round carrying system boxes to repairers. It was as if I
had been given my life back at the expense of losing the material
objects most precious to me.
SwS,
Margaret
