the way forward, but it takes such a painfully long time.

I worry a bit about education _from outside_, particularly when several
different behaviours are involved. Dowry deaths, for example, are related;
but they are clearly not the same. There are several survivors' (and friends
of survivors) groups in the UK, analogous to organizations like the Acid
Survivors Foundation in Bangladesh. Southall Black Sisters is the oldest (<
late 70s?) and most well known, I think. These hold a good deal more hope,
it seems to me.
