Hi All,
I am dealing currently with an idea which I have to put out there, since I
don't find the right literature either to expand or revise.
Looking at the discourse formation and the practices (Foucault), the
justification as well as the boundaries, in our case, the design discourse
(Krippendorff) could also be understood as a self organizing system (Fuchs).
As I do understand viable systems from a self organizing perspective, that
through the intrusion, through the crossing of outside discourses the
boundary of viable systems are permanently changing, therefore, couldn’t we
change and say:
the design discourse understands itself as an inclusive discourse formation,
which includes not only the community which calls themselves designers,
therefore the intrusion through engineering and marketing as well as from
sociologists and others is nothing else then signs of a transdisciplinary
practice of discourse which has to be established? So we could also be
focused on guidelines how to research products from a design perspective etc.
... I started to look for transdisciplinary discourse papers to explore on
this idea but I didn’t find to much, is somebody having an idea?
Thanks,
Jurgen Faust
