The Royal Society offers 12-month Fellowships to post-doctoral
scientists from several Asian countries to visit the UK for up to 12
months to carry out a research project.
Further information is available at:
http://www.royalsoc.ac.uk/funding.asp?id=2349
The next deadline for applications on behalf of scientists from India
and China is 4 October 2007. Decisions will be made in about January
2008 for Fellowships to start in Spring or Summer 2008.
The Fellowships are very competitive, but many UK Universities
(including Durham) are prepared to support applications from
well-qualified candidates. The application needs to be made by the
scientist in charge of the research group that will host the visit, so
people interested in applying should approach the UK scientist they
would like to work with.
