medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I think the webmaster at art-roman excluded the stuff he didn't like. There's a great deal of paint in Poitiers, especially at N-G-la-Grande. Saint-Hilaire, on the other hand, is quite plain but also heavily redone, I believe. But nothing in France can quite match Issoire for sheer grotesqueness of color! I haven't checked Auvergne lately, but I believe he omits either Saint-Austremoine entirely or just the painted plaster capitals.
