A report saying that the official opposition party proposes to scrap data
protection legislation is surely a legitimate item for discussion on a
general list for librarians. My guess is that Keith's point is that
lis-professional is a place for discussion of the issues as they relate to
our professional practice and that there are other places where this thread
might be pursued - particularly the bit about fellow males in the pink, or
whatever it was.
