Information is costly and must be appropriate to the business needs of the organisation. Acquiring the right mix of products and negotiating licences to suit business needs is complex. Good results can be obtained, when information managers work in partnership with the vendor. The best working relationships develop when both parties understand the other parties' commercial drivers.
BENEFITS OF ATTENDING
This participative course will assist information professionals in improving the management of their relationships with publishers, vendors and suppliers.

- be able to develop a structured approach to vendor management and negotiations
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Information managers who have responsibility for selecting or purchasing information resources, who need to liase frequently with external vendors or suppliers of services. The course is not suitable for organisations where consortia undertake the majority of purchasing.
COURSE LEADER: OLIVIA FREEMAN
Olivia works on a freelance basis, as a trainer, researcher and information management specialist. She was previously, Head of Business Information at HSBC Bank, where she started the global service and was responsible for the procurement and exploitation of electronic resources. She is a judge for the Freepint Award for the best vendor customer service team.
